Personal life

CARBONE was born on December 8, 1967, at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He was raised by Italian immigrant parents and taught to speak both Italian and English. After starting his first distribution business, he owned and operated several businesses in Toronto, which eventually led him to California to live with his then wife, Michele, a successful realtor. Ten years later, after receiving tragic news, CARBONE returned to Toronto to care for his dying mother, Carmela, who had been battling pancreatic cancer for three years. CARBONE served as Carmela’s personal 24/7 caregiver and he remained in Canada after her death.

While his marriage dissolved, CARBONE, Michele's hero, and Michele, CARBONE's diamond girl, remain friends. An example to many as a good mother, a beautiful soul, and a passionate woman, she serves as a reminder that a woman with a beautiful soul doesn't just portray kindness for the sake of appearances or social expectations; her kindness springs naturally from within, a reflection of her inner beauty. She is empathetic, always ready to extend a helping hand, and her actions are motivated by genuine concern for others.

CARBONE later on lived for 12 years with a lifelong childhood friend, Josie, who knew and loved him dearly and supported his first campaign. She was diagnosed with ALS and lost her battle three years later.

As Josie entered the most difficult part of ALS, her wish was for Rob to be her sole caregiver as she entrusted and had faith in his ability to properly care for her. Rob was unconditionally devoted and honored her wishes by selflessly dedicating all his time to keeping that promise until her death, resulting in an early withdrawal from his initial campaign.

In CARBONE's words, Josie was an incredibly strong woman with the spirit of a lion but the heart of a lamb. She gave deeply to the community through her commitment to easing the pain and suffering of people who battle mental health issues and problems. She will forever be in his heart and her spirit with him everywhere he goes.

As a father and former soccer and hockey coach for the Bulldogs, CARBONE's retirement is now focused on his leadership and willingness to invest in future generations and be a strong advocate for mental health, attributes that will greatly benefit Canadian children.

CARBONE will step up to lead the Republican Party of Canada to a victory in the next Federal election to restore faith in our nation and usher in a bright new future for generations to come.
